* make동사의 사용

해석

이러한 상황에 대한 이유중에 하나는 우리가 언급해왔던 바로 그 미디어가 생각하는것이 불필요한것처럼 보이게 그렇게 디자인되었다는 것이다. (이것이 단지 외형일뿐이긴 하지만)

: someone who is very intelligent (ex) He is one of the finest minds in physics today.

해석

지적인 견해와 입장의 포장은 우리 시대의 가장 똑똑한 사람들중 몇몇의 가장 활발한 프로젝트중의 하나다.


(3) The viewer of television, the listener to radio, the reader of magazines, is presented with a whole complex of elements—all the way from ingenious rhetoric to carefully selected data and statistics—to make it easy for him to “make up his own mind” with the minimum of difficulty and effort.

해석

TV의 시청자와 라디오의 청취자 그리고 잡지의 독자들은 (기발한 미사여구부터 사려깊게 선택된 데이터와 통계자료까지 모두)를 최소한의 어려움과 노력으로 자신의 입장을 결정하는것을 쉽게 만들기 위해 완전히 복잡한 결과물을 제공받게 된다.

해석

하지만 이러한 포장은 너무 효과적이여서 시청자, 청취자, 독자들은 전혀 자신의 입장을 정하지 않는다.
